Building community through Creative Expression!

Creative Expressions

was founded in 2012 as a tool for education reform through the arts.
We believe that everyone is a creative who can act as both teacher and student. Rather than offering cookie cutter programming we customize each participant centered course to meet the needs of the site, organization and staff we work with. Using our “Cypher Pedagogy” method we dismantle the traditional “Banking Model” of education by creating a community for Creative Expression in both in person and virtual settings.

The Artivist Training course utilizes art + activism to to activate our organism to its highest potential. The course empowers us to thrive doing what we love by fusing our skillset with purpose and intention.

“Don’t take for Granted” is a workshop created to demystify the grant writing process for creatives looking to obtain funding for their work and serve the community.

join our FREE bi weekly “Artivist Network and Build” sessions!

Every other Monday 10am-12pm on Zoom. Open to creatives of all mediums and educators looking to make a difference in their community.

Y? is the founder and Director of Programs at Creative Expressions, a native NYC Artivist and Educator who uses art as a tool for liberation and community building. He began his journey as a songwriter, performer, audio engineer and artist educator. Through the creation of music he honed his skills molding himself into a musician, composer and producer of music, events, and performing arts through the mantra WhyNotShowLove. Y? utilizes these skills to build and serve community. Creative Expressions use’s his “Cypher Pedagogy” as the framework for our offerings.
